CME/MOC Instructions

CME

  • Anyone in a position to control content MUST sign a Disclosure Form! Planning Committee members, moderators, speakers – all must sign the disclosure forms.

  • Track Chairs are responsible for making sure all the members of the track planning committee sign the disclosure forms.

  • Each track committee member is responsible for making sure the speakers/moderators for their sessions sign the forms.

  • Each moderator must review the disclosure forms for their speakers and REVIEW each speaker’s presentation to make sure it is free of commercial bias.

  • Any speaker/moderator/planning committee member who refuses to sign the Disclosure form will not be allowed to serve on the planning committee or speak/moderate any sessions.

  • Every session must have either A) Learning Objectives; or B) A Purpose Statement.  There is not a required number of learning objectives or purpose statements for each session – whatever the speakers/moderators feel adequately describes the session.

MOC

  • MOC is crucial to ACPM learners as many are preparing for recertification with the American Board of Preventive Medicine so each session MUST have Maintenance of Certification questions.  The requirement is three (3) questions for every hour of content.  If the session is 1.5 hours long it must have at least four (4) questions.

  • It is the responsibility of the speaker to write these questions.  If the speaker is unable or unwilling to write them then the responsibility falls to the moderators and ultimately the track chair.

  • Each question must be MULTIPLE CHOICE!

  • Each question must have incorrect answers listed with the correct answer (The correct answer MUST BE NOTED)
